Anniversary Date
Anniversary dates determine the date your access plan is renewed, and the date you are billed for your account. (this only applies to quarterly, six monthly and yearly plans not monthly plans, refer to Monthly billing) Your anniversary date is based on day of the month your Comstar account was first created, and the duration of your access plan. If your account was created on the 10th of March, and you have chosen a quarterly, six monthly, or yearly access plan, then your anniversary date is the 10th of April, the 10th of July and so on.

Download
The term "download"refers to all data transferred from the Comstar network and the Internet to your computer. Downloads include all the data you receive from Web sites you visit, all the e-mail you receive, and all the software you download.

E-mail Address
E-mail, short forelectronic mail, is the main way people send messages through the Internet. With e-mail software such as Outlook Express, a personalised Comstar e-mail address lets you communicate with friends, family and business colleagues.

Idle Disconnect
All Comstar Unlimited access plans are subject to the idle disconnection rule. If you are connected to Comstar, but have not used the Internet in the last 20 minutes, Comstar will automatically disconnect you from the Internet. Idle disconnection will not occur if, for example, you have left your computer and are downloading a file. Please note that composing e-mail messages does not utilise your Internet connection, so is considered "idle"time.

Monthly Billing
All monthly access plans are billed on the 5th of every month and a prorata amount is payable when access plan is activated during the month. Eg: you start with Comstar on the 10th of July you will pay the $20-00 connection fee and access for only 21 days (not the full month) then you are billed monthly on the 5th of every month in advance for your internet access plan.

Personal Web Page
This page of Glossary of Terms is a Web page. A Comstar personal Web page gives you the opportunity to publish your information on the Internet for everyone to read.

Plan Period
Your plan period is the duration of your Comstar access plan. If you are subscribed to a plan which lasts for three months, then your plan period is three months.

Point of Presence (POP)
A Point of Presence (POP) is the location you connect to when you dial into Comstar. Comstar has POPs in cities throughout Australia. Every POP has a unique telephone number. If an Comstar POP is in your local call area, then connecting to the Internet through Comstar is just the price of a local call.

Session Limit
Session limits restrict the length of time you can spend connected to Comstar in a continuous block. Session limits help reduce congestion on our dial-up access lines, giving all our customers equal opportunity to connect to our network. If your access plan has a four hour session limit, then you will be disconnected once you have been online more than four continuous hours. You may reconnect to Comstar as soon as you wish. Please note all Comstar access plans have 8 session limits.

Cancellation
Cancellation of an account must be made in writing by fax or email to 1300 72 31 42 or admin@comstar.com.au and must occur prior to the next months billing or prior to the end of the term of contract.
